Super Sunday

On a beautiful, sunny day – a welcome change to the recent weather – OPMs came to play at Keyham (the Creek being too wet). Despite some regulars being missing from the squad and players being put into key positions (some having never played there before!), Services had what can only be described as a very good day at the office.

A strong start by both sides eager to show who was in charge but it was Services who came away with the first try courtesy of Mason King, converted by Alex Rose (7 – 0). OPMs kept up the fight but it was not to be their day; tries flowed for Services, two for Peter Colam (playing Centre), another 5 in total for Mason, a try each for Joe Sair, Herbie Owen, Alex Rose and finally Finlay Hosking. All tries were ably converted by Alex Rose who had a good day with the boot.

This was a fine performance by Services and hopefully the confidence gained will be carried forward to their match against Tavistock on 23rd February.
