Chipstead are down on tour from Surrey.
We opened the score with a try by Dan Chugg, then they pulled ahead to take the score to 5~15. After the first try Dickie Duffield gave up recording who scored; no one cared.
We came back, and I think by the end it stood at 21 ~ 21 or 21~26 to them.
No one was really sure.
Well refereed by Paul Ansell, who at one point joined in a ruck.
There were all the usual skylarks, players having to take a drink for the most minor of mistakes.
A player with the slightest of limps, and Paul would blow his whistle and call on the medics armed with no more than a bottle of Port or something similar.
Everyone had a good time, as it should be on these occasions.
What happened afterwards, I can't say, but I expect it will go on long into the night at the club or in town.
When it is on tour, Rugby is always the winner.
