Having started in the Saracens academy aged 14, I signed my 1st professional contract with them at 18 and went on to make 84 1st XV appearances. During this time I also played for England 7s for four seasons, with the highlight being winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in 2006 and then the week after going on to win in Hong Kong.

In 2007, I moved to Paris to play for Racing Metro 92 which was an incredible experience. I came home in 2010 and joined London Welsh, and then to London Scottish where I ended up retiring abruptly in 2014 due to a neck injury.

My coaching career started straight after retirement at Ivybridge Community College where I eventually became Head of Rugby. Developing young talent is a huge passion of mine and having left the college, I started my own company in Jan 2021 - Benefit Elite Coaching, where I run various junior after school sessions and holiday rugby camps. I also was on the referee circuit for several seasons and recently enjoyed coaching the Samurai Barracudas in the Super Sevens Series.

I can’t wait for the new season to start and to see where we can take Devonport Services. Mike and the team did an amazing job last year getting promoted and although this season will no doubt be challenging there’s a lot of talent and I think we can do great things!
