Due to the "Weather Gods" Services hosted 5 matches at Keyham Sports Ground on Sunday 22nd February, and special mentions have to be made to our Fixtures Secretary, Paula William,s for arranging the kick off times, which ran smoothly for all teams, and also our U13 volunteers for providing hot drinks and food for the players and spectators.
The first match in the dreary, grey, and wet conditions saw Services U13s beat a dogged Paignton squad 35-15.
Services U16s beat Topsham 48-3 in a very well drilled display, followed by a dominant display from Services U15s against Sidmouth, running out 69-19 victors.
Services U14s battled really hard against a very well-drilled Barnstaple squad, but were well beaten 7- 39.
Due to witnessing g a couple of seasons in one day, the visiting players and supporters stated that there was a festival vibe to the whole day
Services U16 girls clustered with Tavistock, Cullompton, and Paignton v Teignmouth/OPMs/Exeter Athletic on a very entertaining match, which was a great advert for girls' rugby, in a closely fought match, which saw the Services cluster just lose 38-39.
There were also girls cluster matches played with Services/Cullompton 14s v Teignmouth, and a Services U10 girls playing at Plymouth Oaks.
Happy days
Sam Samuel.
