U16s match report if you don’t mind posting. Thank you:

A tough end for the under-16s.

The under-16s had a disappointing end to a great season on finals day at Brixham RFC.
In glorious sunshine on a perfect pitch, the boys gave everything they had but came up just short in the Fisherman’s Plate.

We were quietly confident coming into this game against free running Topsham, as we had beaten them in an earlier round, albeit narrowly.
We started well, but Harry Witcher got us off the mark with an early penalty, 3 -0.
Topsham unleashed their big runners to good effect and scored their opening try in the middle, adding the easy extras, 3 - 7.
Witcher narrowly missed another penalty chance soon after Isaac got us into the lead with a well taken try out wide, Witcher converting, 10 - 7.
The game moved end to end for a while with both sides having their chances, but Topsham capitalised on a missed tackle to score just before the break. A missed conversion made it 10 - 12.
We made seven substitutions at half time, but credit to the lads and the work they have put in all season, our structure stayed intact.
Charlie Craven reached for the line after a strong run to collect a try, Witcher again converting, 17 - 12.
Topsham just wouldn’t go away, and soon after, scored again out wide and added the extras to move ahead 17 -19.
Harry Witcher and the Topsham kicker traded penalties to make it 20 - 22 with 5 minutes to play.
We launched an attack, and after several phases, Topsham infringed at the ruck to give away a long range penalty.
Harry Witcher stepped up and thumped it over for what we thought was the deciding 3 points, 23 - 22.
With the last play of the game, Topsham put us under huge pressure from the kick off and turned over possession to score in the corner at the death.
Final score DSRFC 23 — Topsham 27.

A cracking game of rugby and so close to some silverware.
Huge thankyou to the senior squad who came along to support the lads?
