Services U12s travelled to Cornwall on tour on Friday 21st March and were hosted by Helston RFC U12s on Saturday 22nd March in a really good opening match of their tour, and were well supported by a big band of parents, grandparents, siblings, and pet dogs. We were lucky to miss the rain during our match versus Helston and ran out winners 8 tries to 1, and were well hosted in the clubhouse after the match, which was played in a really good spirit. On Sunday 23rd, we were hosted by Penryn RFC, and despite a long day on Saturday playing rugby, playing on Hayle beach, and dancing the night away in the holiday camp clubhouse, Services stormed into a half-time lead of 6 tries to 1. Penryn woke up in the 2nd half and scored 3 unanswered tries at the beginning of that half before Services stepped another level, finishing the match by winning 11 tries to 5.
Both Helston and Penryn have requested to play Services next season. A very enjoyable and memorable tour.
