Last weekend Devonport Services U7s-U12s took part in a tournament organised by Exeter Saracens RFC at the Exeter Arena.

The Under 8s, jointly coached by Steve Mole and Steve Pooley, managed to enter 2 teams into the competition, and surprised everyone including themselves with outstanding performances throughout the day.
The under 8 age group had teams from Barnstaple, Exeter Saracens and noteably Exeter Chiefs, so our day looked quite tough.
We need not have worried, our boys just clicked on the day and remembered everything they had been coached in the pre-season beating every team in thier path to set up what would essentially become the final against
Exeter Chiefs.

We took the lead early on and never looked back winning the final 10 - 6 and the tournament trophy for our age group. All the boys played well but pick of the bunch were captain Lloyd Atwill, Josh Oliver and Max Ringrose.

I think we have a great team in the making here, so if you find yourself at a loose end one Sunday, come and watch the under 8s. You may be surprised!!!!
